Education Scholarships

You have gotten this far in your educational career, so you probably know by now just how important good teachers are. That’s why the education major is often cited as one of the most popular…we need teachers.

Of course, you’re not limited to teaching in a classroom if you choose to major in education. You can also join the school administrator side and work toward being a school principal, or you could be a counselor and help students along in that way.

Types of Education Scholarships

General education students have a diverse set of financial aid awards to choose from, mostly to avoid sending education majors into the workforce (where the upside of their earnings is limited) with a lot of loan debt.

As such, you’ll find a lot of scholarships for education majors, but you’ll also find fellowships, grants, forgivable loans, and various tuition waivers and reimbursement programs.

Popular Scholarships for Education Majors

The Tuition Exchange is a widespread organization providing thousands of scholarships through various institutions, making it a good resource for those interested in education.

There are also awards like the Critical Needs Teacher Program (CNTP), which offers students at a Mississippi college or university who agree to work at a critical needs school in the state reimbursement for their tuition.

Applying for Education Scholarships

Be sure to check the requirements for the reimbursement programs, as the criteria might be very specific. Some school scholarships may consider students automatically for financial aid awards within the program, while others might require a separate application.
